Nhlanhla Ndlovu

Nhlanhla is the Director of CEGAA, responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of CEGAA. He joined CEGAA in October 2008 after working for other non-profit research and training organisations and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he promoted effective policy and budget research and capacitated many stakeholders, including community groups, students, journalists, government officials and members of parliaments with skills on budget monitoring and expenditure tracking, resulting in improved knowledge of government budget systems and processes, and increased engagement with the processes for improved health care service delivery in many African countries and elsewhere.He holds a Master of Philosophy Degree in Public Policy from the University of Cape Town, an Honours Degree in Commerce and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences from University of Kwaulu-Natal.He serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for SECTION-27, incorporating the AIDS Law Project (ALP), and is also a member of the Board of Trustees

PROGRAMME MANAGER Silindile Shezi

Silindile Shezi has immense passion for social and rural development, with a particular interest in systems and policies aimed at enhancing the general welfare of poor communities. He holds a Master's degree in Commerce specialising in International Economics and Managerial Finance.Silindile previously worked as a Senior Agricultural Economist for the Western Cape Department of Agriculture, where he was responsible for market research on value-adding in new agricultural industries, and for evaluating the effect of international, national and provincial marketing trends and policies in agriculture. He has also worked as an academic and lecturer in Economics, Managerial Economics and Marketing Finance.At CEGAA, Silindile’s current focus is on capacity-building and HIV/AIDS expenditure tracking surveillance, which is a critical activity aimed at enabling South Africa to monitor spending according to its National Strategic Plan for HIV and AIDS, STIs and TB (NSP).

SENIOR RESEARCHER
Linda Mbuthini
Linda Mbuthini is a Health Economist with strong background in data science, started his career at the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) - Burden of Disease Unit, subsequently joined the University of Cape Town (UCT) Cancer Research Initiative, and UCT Lung Institute where he worked extensively in Data Management, Biostatistics, Clinical Research Studies and Economic modelling, providing support in health economics aspects in disease modelling and Health Technology Assessment. He holds a Masters Degree in Health Economics from UCT, Post Graduate Diploma in Health Economics (UCT), and a Bachelor Degree from Walter Sisulu University (WSU). Leveraging his skills in Data Science and health economics, he will be organising and facilitating workshops, providing research services and providing technical support on Budget Monitoring and Expenditure Tracking (BMET), providing research analysis for and technical support to governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.

Clinton Langenhoven
Clinton is an accountant by profession and responsible for all CEGAA's Finance. Prior to joining CEGAA, he served for five years as Financial Manager for Disabled People South Africa. As a keen sportsman, he avidly competes in various sporting codes, eg: tennis, cycling and fun walks.

BUSINESS SYSTEMS MANAGER Jacky Viglino
Jacky has extensive experience in office and administrative management of non-profit programmes, gleaned at organisations such as Impumelelo, IDASA (AIDS Budget Unit) and the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ). She joined CEGAA in 2010 and is responsible for managing, coordinating and monitoring operational systems within the organisation and ensures the efficiency thereof. Her role also includes various Human Resource functions. She holds a postgraduate degree, a Project Management Certificate, and a Small Business Management qualification. Jacky is also one of the founding members of the organisation and has served on the Board since its inception in 2006.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Cecilia Pierce

Cecilia is working in the capacity of Administration Assistant for CEGAA. She has years of experience in administration and currently assists in the field of HR, finance and the daily operational systems within the organisation. She is hard working, diligent and is always ready to assist in every possible way. She is a valued employee at CEGAA.
